Balcones de Majagual is located 7 miles north of the town of San Juan del Sur on the pacific coast of southern Nicaragua. This peaceful and private ecological-friendly resort overlooks the Pacific Ocean and jungle. Choose between major international airports in Managua, Nicaragua (MGA) or Liberia, Costa Rica (LIR). Arrive by plane, boat or car.  The roads require 4WD in rainy season and San Juan del Sur is half an hour away.

• 30 minutes from Rivas
• 2 1/2 hours from Managua International Airport (MGA)
• 3 1/2 hours from Liberia International Airport (LIR)
• 1 hour to the Costa Rica border
• 1/2 hour to San Juan del Sur’s discos, fishing, surfing, shopping, rental cars and restaurants

DIRECTIONS FROM PAN AMERICAN HIGHWAY

1. From the Pan American Highway heading south, turn right (west) at the obelisk marking the entrance to the San Juan del Sur Highway at La Virgen. Travel 12 miles (20 kilometers) and watch for a large sign that reads "Welcome to San Juan del Sur", then on the right for the Chocolate Road marked by MR signs painted on large rocks leading to the Morgan's Rock Resort. If you arrive at the Texaco gasoline station in the town of San Juan del Sur or pass the Palí grocery store or your left, you’ve missed the entrance and have driven too far.
2. You will pass the municipal center on your left and the local high school on your right and then through a small town, always going straight. This road is called "La Chocolata". Keep on going until you reach a bridge with crumpled metal railings.
3. Immediately after the bridge you will see an intersection where you must turn left. You will know you are going the right way when you see a rock sign on your right, with the initials "MR" painted on. Keep going for another 150mts and reach another intersection where you will see another rock sign and must turn right. Keep going and you will pass through various small towns and many real estate signs, and after that go up a hill, then down. On the right side of the road you will see a small "ranchito" with a big sign that reads Morgan's Rock. Continue on for less than one mile.  You will arrive at the entrance to Balcones de Majagual on your left.  The guard will  ask for your name

• Car rentals booked through hotel reservations for pick up in San Juan del Sur, Managua or Peñas Blancas at the Costa Rican boarder crossing
• Large, air-conditioned tour bus from Liberia to the Costa Rican border at Peñas Blancas or to downtown Rivas, where the hotel will meet you
